Let's Send Cindy Boatwright to the Statehouse
Yet another Republican has been indicted for corruption at the South Carolina Statehouse. In the special election to replace suspended Rep. Jim Merrill, Democrat Cindy Boatwright is determined to put an end to the corruption in Columbia and fight for the things folks in her district care most about: education, the environment and restoring fairness and trust in state government.
Cindy has an ambitious plan to win in a district that has grown dramatically since the last election gave the GOP an edge. There are lots of new voters in the 99th District, which covers parts of Mount Pleasant, Daniel Island, Goose Creek, Hanahan and Cainhoy, and Cindy has pledged to "wear out a lot of shoes" personally meeting with as many of those voters as she can.
As we've seen in other recent special elections, Democrats are making huge gains in GOP territory and this race is definitely within reach. In order to win, Cindy is going to need our help. Here are three ways you can make a huge difference:
1) Make a donation to Cindy's campaign. Even $5 will help get Cindy's message out to voters in her district that are fed up with the corruption from the GOP. Click here to donate >
2) Volunteer to help Cindy get her message out. She'll need people making phone calls and going door-to-door. In a special election, turnout is extremely low because lots of people don't know to get out and vote. Whoever gets the word out to more potential supporters will win. Your involvement could literally be the difference between winning and losing this race. Click here to volunteer >
3) Spread the word! Cindy is asking every Democrat who reads this to please "tell five people" about her campaign. Be sure to share her website with anyone you know in her district and with friends who may be able to help her campaign: https://www.cindyboatwrightforsc.com
