October Newsletter: Voting Info & the Inches we Need!

The inches we need are all around us!

I have a friend who is the most effective political operative I know.  He works year-in and year-out on some of the most competitive & high-profile elections around the country, and is typically very successful in doing it.

Once he told me about a movie clip he watches for inspiration whenever he needs to dig deep to get his candidate over the finish line.  Its Al Pacino as Coach Tony D'Amato in the movie Any Given Sunday.  Here's the condensed version (or watch the full version here):

You find out life’s this game of inches. So is football. Because in either game, life or football, the margin for error is so small -- I mean one-half a step too late, or too early, and you don’t quite make it. One-half second too slow, too fast, you don’t quite catch it.

The inches we need are everywhere around us. They’re in every break of the game, every minute, every second.

On this team, we fight for that inch. On this team, we tear ourselves and everyone else around us to pieces for that inch. We claw with our fingernails for that inch, because we know when we add up all those inches that’s gonna make the f***n difference between winning and losing!

I like that quote applied to politics because I know it can all feel like a game of inches out there.  Every phone call feels so small, every $25 donation seems like a drop in the bucket, every door-knock can seem like so much work for just 1 vote.

BUT, those are the inches we need, and if we add them all up at the end of a campaign, if we've scratched out enough inches, that'll make the difference between winning and losing, between progress and Trump's Republicans taking us backward.

So, with 1 month left in this election, will you help us claw out a few more inches and elect Democrats in close races all across the Lowcountry?  You can phone bank, door knock, work on GOTV, and/or donate.

Lets go win!
