Charleston Democrats Announce 2024 Candidates

The Charleston County Democratic Party introduced its 2024 slate of local Democratic candidates Thursday morning April 4.

The party fielded 39 candidates in 29 races across Charleston County from Congress to Coroner.  All Charleston County Council seats up this year will have a Democrat on the ballot, and 97% of Charleston County will have the opportunity to vote for a Democrat for both the State House and State Senate.

The Democratic ticket includes veterans, teachers, law enforcement officers, pastors, small business owners, and a JFK Profile in Courage Award winner.  16 Democratic women will be on the ballot in this first election cycle following SC’s GOP legislature enacting an abortion ban for South Carolina women.
