More Democrats Than Republicans on the Ballot

Filing has closed for South Carolina and we are thrilled to announce that for the first time in decades, Democrats will be competing in more races in Charleston County than the GOP! Democrats have filed to compete in 94% of the races that include any portion of Charleston County, while the Republicans will only appear on the ballot in 78% of those contests. If you only count districts where the majority of the district falls in Charleston County, Democrats are on the ballot in all but one race, while the GOP line will be blank in SEVEN different spots on county ballots this November.
