CHARLESTON COUNTY DEMOCRATIC PARTY
2020 Precinct Officer & Volunteer Form
IMPORTANT: The DNC does not allow us to count the use of this form alone as a substitute for in-person attendance at the Democratic Expo/Precinct Reorganization event. Use of this form does not qualify a person to be a delegate to the national convention.
If you wish to be considered as a precinct officer (scroll down for a brief description of officer roles) please indicate the positions you are willing to be considered for and your order of preference. We will have individual precinct meetings in the future to add people to the team and invite you to attend. Thank you!
Precinct Officer Positions
Executive Committee Member
This person represents your precinct at the county party meetings and is allowed to vote on matters that come before the group.
Executive Committee Alternate
This person represents your precinct in the event that the Executive Committee Member is not in attendance. (If you are not interested in serving as a leader, but want to be an active member of the party, this is a great role to choose)
Precinct President
This person leads the volunteers in your precinct and works to maintain relationships with all the Democrats who vote there. This person is granted a vote at county meetings if both the Executive Committee Member and Alternate are not in attendance.
1st, 2nd & 3rd Vice Presidents
These people support the Precinct President in their efforts to organize the precinct.
Secretary
This person also supports the Precinct President and may be asked to assist with emails and other messages for the Democrats in your precinct.
Treasurer
This person also supports the Precinct President and may be asked to assist with managing any funds related to organizing precinct activities. It is rare that precincts use funds, but it may happen in the event your precinct decides to have a block party or other organizing activity that requires funding.
