State House Candidate James Teeple is an angry man with angry politics. His failed confrontation with an Elementary School student on a school bus is a lot like the approach he brings to politics; hostile and extreme.

Take it from the Post & Courier (Oct 3, 2024):

James Teeple, the Republican candidate in one of Charleston's most competitive Statehouse races this year, told a school bus driver in 2022 to pass along an unsettling message to an elementary school student after Teeple was convinced one of his children had been bullied.

As the bus was stopped, Teeple told the driver through an open door he was going to show up at the student's house and "kick his dad's ass" following an alleged scuffle between the students over a saved bus seat, according to a sheriff's office incident report and a video.

“Is there a kid named [redacted] on the bus? Where's he at?" Teeple asked.

"On the bus," the monitor replied.

"Do I need to call the school district to get his dad's number?" Teeple continued.

The bus driver said she wasn't sure, adding that the school would likely reach out after they explained what happened.

"Could you tell (the student) that I'm going to kick his dad's ass," Teeple said, adding, "I'm going to go to his house."

This is not the type of person who should be representing us at the State House, and unfortunately his politics are just as extreme as his actions. Teeple is a far-right extremist through and through; opposing women’s reproductive freedom, supporting more guns on our streets, and wanting to send public school dollars to well-off private schools.

This election, in SC House District 116, lets make sure an angry “adult” who tries to bully kids doesn’t end up anywhere near our State House. Vote Charlie Murray for decent and moral leadership!
