Ride the Blue Wave

183 precincts, 111,000 Democratic voters, 9 regional clubs and many more local groups. Charleston Democrats are growing and thriving!

Charleston voted BLUE in 2024.
111,000+ strong — and we're just getting started. In a state that hasn't gone Democratic in a presidential race since 1976 (think gerrymandering), Charleston County bucked the trend.
That didn't happen by accident. It happened because of neighbors knocking on doors, showing up to meetings, volunteering their weekends, and believing that their vote matters.
Our Story
Who We Are

The Charleston County Democratic Party is the official home of Democrats in Charleston County. We're organizers, volunteers, candidates, elected officials, and everyday people who believe in building a Lowcountry that works for everyone.

We have nine local clubs spanning every corner of the county, from the Peninsula to Johns Island, West Ashley to Mount Pleasant, North Charleston to Edisto. Wherever you live, there's a community of Democrats near you.

Our Values
What We Stand For

The mission of the Charleston County Democratic Party is to educate and encourage participation in the political process by people of all backgrounds who support Democratic principles.

To achieve this mission we:

  • Register voters, recruit candidates, and organize get-out-the-vote efforts

  • Educate our community about Democratic ideals and the party platform

  • Keep voters informed on issues including education, environment, health, transportation and the economy

  • Support and develop precinct teams and regional clubs across the county

Show Up
In the Room Where It Happens

Charleston Democrats typically meet on the third Thursday of every month at 6:30 PM. We also hold a variety of social gatherings and encourage people to volunteer with campaigns and get involved with local groups. All meetings will be posted on Instagram, Facebook, our website, announced via email, and listed on Mobilize.

Ready to show up in 2026?
It started with 111,000 voters. Now we need volunteers, donors, and candidates to keep the wave going.
We're building on that momentum heading into midterms — and we need every single one of you. The seats are flippable. The votes are here. We just need to show up!
